About the Owner

Kids -R- Us Child Development Center, Inc., is owned and operated by LaTonya Redfearn of Gwinn, Michigan. I began working with children after my daughter was born in July of 1993 . I truly loved motherhood and decided to pursue an education in Early Childhood. Shortly after, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at NMU in May of 1999 and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education in August of 2020. I began a directorship working with children, families and the community in a childcare setting. I believe that children are our most precious resource and should be the world’s first priority.

The center will provide continuity for children in a safe and stable environment that is staffed with Early Childhood Professionals who are nurturing and sensitive to the individual child needs. I feel that children learn best through play and by actively exploring their environment. It is my mission to ensure that all children who enter my facility leave with a sense of purpose and the ability to master life's skills. I value my commitment to parents and the community in helping to build the foundation for our children’s future. I am forever grateful to have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of your child. I thank you for sharing God’s most precious gift to you with me and my staff.

About our Staff

Kids-R-Us, through its staff, is committed to the needs and concerns of every parent/guardian. We believe that building relationships with your child’s teacher is one of the very best ways for you to stay connected to your child and what he or she is learning.

We value parental/guardian support and encourage open lines of communication between the classroom and home. The classroom has an open door policy that provides opportunity for parents/guardians to observe and participate with their children in their environments. Our teachers and center staff are committed to developing strong partnerships with families, especially in those first few months when everyone is getting used to a new routine and new friends.

The more communication the better: No question is too small, so don’t hesitate to bring it up! Our teachers and center staff are here to help families navigate a variety of issues, including behavioral concerns, transition difficulties, and social and emotional changes. And because of our beliefs and polices; we believe that teachers, parents/guardians, and children working together are a winning combination.

Our Lead Teachers are considered and hired based on the following criteria:
